Salzgitter AG awarded Silver Medal in EcoVadis Sustainability Rating

As part of the most recent recertification, Salzgitter AG has been awarded a Silver Medal in the EcoVadis sustainability rating for the first time. With a score of 70 out of 100 points, the Group has significantly improved compared to the previous year (2024: 60 points) and now ranks among the top 14% of all companies assessed globally — and even among the top 8% within its peer group.
The company achieved further progress in three out of the four assessment categories:
- Environment: 75 points (Top 11% in peer group)
- Labor & Human Rights: 77 points (Top 3% in peer group)
- Sustainable Procurement: 66 points (Top 5% in peer group)
The Ethics category remained stable at last year’s level with a score of 50 points.
This recognition highlights the strong commitment to sustainability embedded throughout the Salzgitter Group. Salzgitter AG has participated in the EcoVadis rating at Group level since 2023, achieving Bronze status in both prior years.
EcoVadis evaluates companies’ sustainability performance across four key pillars: Environment, Labor & Human Rights, Ethics, and Sustainable Procurement. The methodology is based on internationally recognized standards such as the GRI (Global Reporting Initiative), UNGC (United Nations Global Compact), and ISO 26000.
